Thei5-4690k is a 3.5GHz CPU with a turbo boost up to 3.9GHz. HWInfo showed that all 4 cores on my CPU averaged very close to that 3.9GHz for the 2 hour session. The cores were averaging about 80% use and temperatures averaged in the mid 50s on each core.
Microsofthas advised gamers to disable several security features to boost gaming performance. As such, we disabled secure boot, virtualization support, and fTPM/PTT on all systems for maximum

Intel Turbo Boost Technology is a CPU optimization tool that's automatically enabled, without any user installation or configuration. Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 exists on many Intel® CPUs. Unlike Intel® XTU, it doesn't require an unlocked processor to work. Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 dynamically increases the speed of a
Ifigured out one way to disable it is to switch power settings to energy saver but that brings my clock speeds down to 2.2 Ghz. Stock cpu speed is listed at 3.8 Ghz. Thanks for the help. -soup.
DisableTurbo Boost if it is enabled. 5. Save the new settings and exit the BIOS screen. 6. Try to use MSI Gaming Boost now. It should work. If you are still having trouble with using MSI Game Boost, you can do some manual changes to make it work, but you will have to take more time and care during this phase. 1.

Disableturbo boost on battery. Turbo boost whilst great for performance, can quickly drain your battery especially when boosting over long periods of time; Go to battery options -> profiles -> edit profile -> processor management -> maximum processor state and modify the value for battery to be 99% or under; Use thottlestop to undervolt your CPU
Profile2 should be set up the same as profile one with the exception of the multiplier, "disable turbo", or both. If you check "disable turbo" on this profile, then it will ensure that your CPU, once it hits a toasty 92C (assuming a value of 8 DTS in the options—you could set this profile to trigger at a more conservative temperature

Idisable it for web browsing and office stuff just because it means the fans come on less and noise is generally reduced overall. I don't need 4ghz all core turbo for that stuff, just when I'm gaming.
